“Great Food, Views & Value”
I have visited the bistro over half a dozen times now and have always left a happy customer. The weekday 2 or 3 course deals are excellent value and the food is always fresh and tasty. To top it all, the setting is stunning and has beautiful views to Rame Head and Looe Bay. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice lunch venue. (April 2012)

“Perfect Wedding”
We held our wedding reception at this hotel on 17th March and it was the most fabulous day ever. I was the most disorganised bride ever but Tracey and Paul (especially Tracey) kept me on the straight and narrow. We hired the whole hotel and all our guests stayed over many from the Friday until the Sunday. Throughout the whole weekend nothing was too much trouble and all the hotel staff looked after everyone so well. I did not have to worry about any of the details on the wedding day because Tracey had thought of everything beforehand and everything ran like clockwork, they even arranged for the sun to shine. We cannot recommend this hotel enough, it truly was the perfect place to have our wedding and cannot wait to celebrate our anniversaries in the years to come. (April 2012)

“Easter Break 2012”
Whitsand bay Hotel just gets better and better every year. A unique place with views that are worth the stay alone. The fact that the food is beautifully presented and delicious is a bonus.
The Phillips family and their ever helpful staff are brilliant hosts, going out of their way to ensure that my family, which includes a 6 yr old and 2 yr old, had a great time. It's the little things that make a big difference at this hotel. A great example being the Easter Sunday Egg Hunt in the Hotel grounds that was organised for the children by the hotel..... and the chocolate bunnies on the breakfast table on Sunday morning......and the excellent food for children at High Tea. The golf course is as good as ever despite the dry sunny weather... I guess you can't have it both ways! My children loved the pool complex and swam every day. Infact they didn't want to come home. This is a unique hotel that draws you back every year. We've already reserved our room for next Easter! (April 2012)

'Comfortable Stay in a Fabulous Location'
We recently attended a wedding at nearby Polhawn Fort and stayed at the Whitsand Bay Hotel for two nights. The hotel's location is fabulous with sea views, pretty gardens and a short walk down to the beach below. The hotel lounge is designed for comfort - big slouchy sofas, comfy chairs, and shelves brimming with well thumbed books and assorted board games. The receptionist who checked us in was exceptionally helpful - taking extra time to explain directions to the wedding venue and this was our experience for the duration of our stay, all the staff were friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in helping us enjoy our visit. The breakfast selection was very good - especially the hot options which were all cooked freshly to order and very generous portions. If you're looking for a comfortable, friendly place offering good service in a great location I recommend this hotel.(Extract April 2012)

“Lovely for Lunch!”
Enjoyed a beautifully cooked and presented Saturday lunch here, with family for my mother in laws 88th birthday treat. Beautiful setting, stunning scenery, gorgeous sunny day. Exceptional value with their £10 for two courses or £12.50 for three. No grumbles at all and can highly recommend (March 2012)

“Definetely a Luxury Hotel!”
I recently stayed at the hotel with a large group of friends. This was my third visit to the hotel, but the hotel with its stunning location and views still wow me! As with my previous visits the staff and owners alike were most friendly and accommodating. The food, both in the relaxing bar and restaurant was superb. I particularly enjoyed the local fish and the breakfast menu which definitely is a great start to the day. We used all the excellent hotels amenities; gym, pool, sauna and spa treatments. My partner and I stayed in the amazing "Tower" room which has enviable views and is very unique. Although this room is only suitable for persons good with heights and stairs, due to our age we found the room most enjoyable. Once again a great stay and we are looking forward to our next visit! (March 2012)

“A Lovely Spot, Hidden Away and Lovely Staff”
We stayed here on the Groupon deal, paying £10 extra for a sea view room - and that was well worth it - fantastic to wake up to that, even (or perhaps especially!) on a February morning. Absolutely no complaints at all about this gem of a place - we were pleased with our room, the food and the service - and if any of these had been less than ideal (which they weren't!) the wonderful staff would have more than made up for it - they were fantastic - always friendly and helpful - there when you needed them, discreet when you didn't - what more could you ask for? Being new to Groupon and failing to realise I needed to take the coupon with me, it could have been awkward on arrival at the busy reception - but not a bit of it - it was just smoothed over and suggested that, sometime during my stay, if I popped into the office, I could use their computer to access my email and print it out - problem solved! We'd have no hesitation in going back or recommending it to anyone who will listen! Thank you to everyone involved. (Feb 2012)

“Fantastic Wedding Venue”
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Philips family and all of the staff for helping to make our wedding on 25th Feb 2012 so amazing. All of our guests commented on the wonderful location, great food and extremely helpful & friendly staff at the hotel. Tracey and Paul went out of their way (I don't think they could have actually slept the whole weekend) ensuring our day was perfect in every way and making sure that absolutely everything ran smoothly. We honestly couldn't have found a better venue. The wedding breakfast was fantastic; the food was delicious, portions were much larger than we'd expected and several of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. Our wedding was amazing thanks to all of your hard work and efforts and we're so grateful. We will certainly be returning (we'd move in if we could!) and are already recommending the hotel to everyone we know! Huge thanks to the whole team. Brittany & Ben Masters (Feb 2012)

“Fantastic Break!”
We have just spent 3 nights at this hotel (at a bargain price half term offer) and had a wonderful time. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, I have stayed at more expensive hotels of higher ratings and have not received the friendliness and attention to detail that we had in Whitsand Bay. My husband is a golfer and the golf was included at no extra cost and the course was excellent. We took our small elderly dog with us and the staff were very accommodating for her without offending the guests who are not so dog friendly. Not an easy task these days when people want to take their dogs on holiday with them but without alienating the non-dog loving community which might be present also. Our room was spotlessly clean, big white fluffy towels and fresh white bed linen. Every time we asked for something the answer was "no problem". If you are looking for a relaxing break next to the sea and a game of golf this is the place. Absolutely no complaints and am looking forward to our next stay. Geldard.

“Well Worth a Visit!”
2 night break in Feb in a big comfortable room with gorgeous sea view. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made very welcome. Nothing too much trouble - everyone who works there is really friendly and helpful. Excellent value, too. We ate breakfast and dinner there as easier than worrying about having to drive out; large lounge to relax in afterwards with plentiful coffee and tea plus board games and books. The leisure facilities (swimming pool, steam room and sauna) very good - we had the pool to ourself the first time we used it. Situtated in a beautiful unspoilt area of Cornwall but within easy reach of Plymouth - it rained one day so we visited the National Marine Aquarium (go there). Recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a family run hotel located in a lovely area with easy access to walks and the beach. It's not a boutique hotel and not pretentious (thank goodness) and we'll definitely go back. (Extract Feb 2012)

“Wow, What a Place!”
If you booked this hotel no way would you be disappointed! From the welcome from Helen, Mr Phillips in the Bar and Mrs Phillips, their sons and daughter-in-law and granddaughter in the dinning rooms all were very friendly and welcoming with nothing too much trouble. Rooms clean and very comfortable with sea views to lose yourselves in. This is a place to stay if you don't want to go out and about as the lounge and bar areas are so comfortable and peaceful. Food was excellent with good menus to chose from, if swimming is your 'thing' then the pool is great. We will be back again!! Thank you for a great time.(Feb 2012)

“Great Value, Cosy and Friendly”
We stayed at this hotel for two nights in Febuary. The weather was glorious. the easy access to the coastal path makes it is a walkers paradise. Our wecome efficient and friendly. The room very satisfactory. The staff were first class and everyone seemed to be part of one big happy family and obviously enjoyed there jobs. Considering we were on a two night Groupon break I think we had an excellent experience and we would not hesitate to return in the future. (Extract Feb 2012)

“Fantastic Weekend”
Booking for a group of 12 of us for a weekend of scrapbooking was made to feel effortless from the start, and during our stay nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms were comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean, the breakfast menu was one of the best I've seen for a while and the hotel looks impressive inside and out. It is particularly atmospheric in the evening. We enjoyed the fantastic sea views from the dining rooms and extremely comfortable lounge area, and the food was delicious! The pool, sauna and steam room are excellent too. We had a fantastic stay. Can't fault anyrhing (apart from not all bedrooms have sea views!). Already looking forward to next year! Thank you for a wonderful stay (Feb 2012)

“Lovely stay”
We were very well looked after and very happy. Thank you (Feb 2012)

“Perfect Place to Chillax!”
We recently stayed at the whitsand bay hotel. The entrance into the hotel was very grand & we were warmly greeted to the hotel. Amazing stained glass window by the stairs finishes the hotels ambiance. The rooms are very spacious & views across Cornwall amazing.everything you needed was in the room. The breakfast is perfectly done, lots of choice for all tastes!! The service also was great & nothing was too much trouble. The lounge is lovely to relax in, the sofas are soft &comfy. Theres lots of books to read,&plenty of games to keep u occupied on a cold wet evening. (Extract Feb 2012)

“Wedding Dream”
Last weeked we had our wedding at the hotel and we had to write a review to share what an amazing venue this hotel was. The food was of an excellent standard and we have had positive feedback from every guest who came and no complaints! The location was stunning and the hotel has amazing views from every room. A lot of my family stayed at the hotel overnight and were exceptionally pleased with the standard of rooms and use of pool, golf courses and other facilities. I would reccommend this hotel to anybody considering getting married here, you will not be dissapointed! Lastly I just have to mention the staff, who were all so warm, friendly and happy it made the experience one we will never forget and we will return for future holidays at the hotel for years to come. (Feb 2012)

“"Undivided Attention"”
I could say "Look no further if you are looking for a dream venue for a special occasion, relaxing break or holiday getaway"...I could say "The Whitsand Bay Hotel is the jewel in the Cornish Crown, a hidden treasure that provides a world-class view, historic architecture, superb grounds and hospitality seldom found at this level". But I want to share our personal experience of this venue... We first visited the Whitsand Bay hotel on a whim. It was a balmy October day and we were looking for a potential venue for a 40th Birthday Party. We were greeted with a warm welcome, genuine smile and the professionalism of Paul and Tracey who shared hot tea and coffee, an open fire and a wealth of experience as party planners. Their personal touch made us feel that we were their one and only customers and within minutes we knew that they would go the extra mile to make our day memorable. On the 4th February 2012, The Whitsand Bay Hotel was the splendid venue for my husbands 40th Birthday Party. Our friends and family travelled hundreds of miles, braving snow, fog and driving rain to celebrate with us. On their arrival, this beautiful venue wrapped them in a warm embrace and provided an ambience that could only be equalled by the tantalising food. The memories of this night will stay with me, as will the knowledge that it would not have been possible but for the discreet, yet meticulous planning that went on behind the scenes. From the gorgeous dog that lies outstretched in the vestibule to the beautiful stained glass windows that envelop the sweeping staircase; you will not find a more breath-taking backdrop for your special event. On behalf of all of our 70 guests, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for delivering on your promises. You are exceptionally good at what you do. Well done to all x  (Feb 2012)

“Anniversary Getaway !”
We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Whitsand Bay Hotel and we cant praise the hotel staff enough!! They were very accommodating, the food was EXCELLENT. Very cosy, relaxing and welcoming. We didnt use the leisure facilities but we did have a look and the pool looked very inviting, spotlessly clean! The coastal walks are breathtaking although it was cold this time of the year (Jan). We will defo be returning and highly recommend it to anyone. (Jan 2012)

“Fantastic!”

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and didn't want to leave! Staff were very helpful and friendly; food was superb and excellent value. Stunning location. We walked the coastal footpath in both directions-amazing views. Spa area is very good. Can highly recommend the massage and pedicure! Lounge area was great for relaxing in-lots of board games. We'll definitely be going back! We had room one - dual aspect-beautiful sea views. (Jan 2012)

“Enjoyable and Relaxing Weekend Away”

This Hotel in our opinion has an excellent position with amazing scenery.
The staff were all extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfasts were fabulous. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening then in the bistro on the second evening. We could not fault the food or indeed the overall stay.We would definitely return to this Hotel and have even recommended the Hotel to our parents. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing weekend. (Jan 2012)

“Birthday Extravaganza!”
A fantastic family run hotel where nothing was too much to ask for. The staff were so polite and friendly. The facilities were outstanding. It has to be one of my best birthdays ever. When we arrived at 7pm we were asked about table reservations so we didn't miss out on an evening meal. We then went for a swim/sauna/steam room which stayed open until 10pm. We woke up in such a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The food service was unbelievable and it was all so delicious. Not a bad word can be said about the hotel and there were 12 of us that stayed. Definitely a place I will be returning too. Amazing views, coastal walks, staff, food and facilities. What more could anyone ask for. 5* for me! Sammy-Jo Rickard (Jan 2012)

“Fantastic Relaxing Stay”
We stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was lovely and exceeded our exoectations. The staff were all so friendly and anything that you asked for was delivered in a very short time, Loved the comfortable lounge area with lots of sofas, We loved it for morning coffee, lunch, (sandwiches were great) and also after our evening meal, we just went back to the lounge for coffee, The bedroom was lovely too, all very clean and the bed was good quality. For someone who suffers with back problems, hotel beds can be a nightmare, but I can reccomend this one. We will be going back as soon as we can. My husband enjoyed playing the golf, (right on the doorstep) and me, just enjoyed the coffee in the lounge and walks on the beach. Thank you to all who made ours a wonderful stay. (Jan 2012)

“Thank You From a Scrapbooker”
Just returned from a very enjoyable 3 days at this wonderful hotel, great location, plenty of opportunity for photos, fantastic food beautifully presented, the room I had (no 19) had absolutely stunning views and was beautifully furnished. I was part of a group of scrapbookers and were made to feel very welcome despite the amount of 'stuff' we came with! The pool, sauna and steam rooms were lovely too. Lastly I must mention the lovely friendly Owners and their staff, nothing was ever too much trouble. Personally I cannot wait to bring my husband down for a weekend, and I hope that we will return again as a group next year.Thank you again to everyone. Elaine x (Jan 2012)

“Exceeded All Expectations”
Friendly & welcoming staff, comfortable clean bedrooms & spotless bathrooms, gorgeous food (wonderful breakfasts set you up for the day!), lovely pool, steam room & sauna. We couldn't fault anything during our relaxing weekend break. The location of the hotel is great too - next to the beach & lovely coastal walks on the doorstep. Would definitely return - this hotel is a gem! (Jan 2012)

“Relaxing Night Away!”
Had a lovely nights stay for our wedding anniversary. Very friendly and welcoming, warm and cosy for couples. Good food and a lovely massage. Was only away for 24 hours but it felt like days! As there are no shops nearby we had to relax. Thank you and see you again soon (Jan 2012)

“Outstanding Service and Stay”
Best place we have ever stayed!! Went there for our honeymoon and got upgraded free of charge to honeymoon room with four poster bed when they found out we had just got married. Prices of food were fantastic and food was lush. Staff were so friendly and helped with every need. Lovely place can't wait to book again. (Jan 2012)

“Not Just a Hotel But a Great Eating Place”
We recently went to the hotel for a lunchtime meal, Other pubs and cafes in the area are very expensive so we were greatly pleased at the good value. The service was suberb and coffee was included in the price. This was served in the very comfortable lounge and we enjoyed a very relaxing and pleasant afternoon looking out to sea.The staff were attentive and the menu choice was comprehensive. Will certainly return (Jan 2012).

“Wonderful Weekend Break”
The hotel is in a fantastic location, once we arrived we didn't need to move the car all weekend as the hotel is a stones throw from the coastal path. The food was excellent and the Phillips family extended a warm welcome. A thoroughly enjoyable stay (Jan 2012).

“Consistantly Excellent”
Since approximately April 2011 I have been a regular weekly resident at this hotel. Over this period I have been witness to the exceptional care and consideration the Phillips family and their staff give to all comers. I have a choice of hotels in which to stay in the area, however I would not choice any other hotel as nothing is too much trouble. Staying at the Whitsand Bay Hotel is a complete pleasure. (Jan 2012)

“Post Xmas/New Year Relaxing Break”
We’ve recently returned from a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing two night break, at the Whitsand Bay. Although the weather was cold and gusty the Phillips family run hotel provided a warm and friendly welcome for our first stay. It was cosy and very comfortable at all times. Family members and staff were always attentive ... nothing was too much trouble. We particularly enjoyed the generous size swimming pool and the new sauna and steam room facilities. Our highlight however was the fine dining ... either Bistro style or A La Carte Restaurant. The cuisine in both was exceptional ... in our opinion exceeding the rosette award given! A good selection of reasonably priced wines was on offer too. We are not golfers and therefore cannot comment on the golfing facilities. Would we stay again? ... a resounding yes. (Jan 2012)

“Faultless”
My partner & I have just spent 2 nights at The Whitsand Bay Hotel, and what a gem! The staff and owners were all very friendly, and nothing too much trouble. We upgraded to a sea view room, and wow, what a view, well worth the extra. The standard of food is exceptional, and such good value for money, we ate in the hotel on both evenings, and there was such a good choice on the menu. The ambience in the whole hotel was lovely, and it was still decorated for Christmas, so that added to the magical few days. The swimming pool, steam room and sauna were an added bonus because the weather was unfortunately not good, which resulted in more time spent in the hotel than on the golf course. We will definately be returning soon (Jan 2012)
